"As someone who has suffered with anxiety and has mental illness in their family I have felt the sting of the stigma surrounding mental illness. After seeing some of the confessions on "Svbaltern Magazine" of people anonymously expressing their distress of not knowing what to do or where to go and even questioning their Iman I got inspired to write this spoken word piece "Bent Smiles" in hopes to spread awareness and help break the stigma."
